PSHE

At Bridgeway Federation, we follow the Jigsaw Scheme to deliver a high-quality PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) education that supports children’s growth, wellbeing and understanding of themselves and others. Through engaging and carefully planned lessons, pupils explore a wide range of topics including healthy relationships, mental and physical health, safety, rights and responsibilities, and financial awareness. The curriculum encourages children to develop emotional literacy, resilience, empathy and positive social skills, helping them to make informed decisions and build strong, respectful relationships. Across all year groups, PSHE lessons provide a safe space for reflection, discussion and personal development, preparing pupils to thrive in school, the wider community, and their future lives.

No Outsiders in Our School

At Bridgeway Federation, we follow the No Outsiders in Our School programme to celebrate diversity and promote equality, inclusion and respect for all. The programme teaches children that everyone is different, that differences should be respected, and that no one should ever feel excluded because of who they are. Through age-appropriate lessons, stories, discussions and activities, pupils explore topics such as equality, diversity, identity and community. The programme encourages children to develop empathy, challenge prejudice and understand the importance of kindness, fairness and acceptance. By embedding these values across school life, we aim to create a safe, welcoming environment where every child feels valued and included.
